Ooh SRAM, you tease!

In a world that's constantly evolving it seems nothing can afford to stand still. So it is with SRAM who have recently announced two separate 'teasers' of their upcoming plans over the next few months.
First off there's the Maxle Light bolt through arrangement for Reba forks which will inevitably flow over to other forks in the range - I'm guessing the Revelation and Recon are prime candidates for this arrangement too.
Anyone who has ridden with a bolt through fork will tell you how much more secure you feel, not just in the extra resistance to twisting from the fork itself but from knowing your wheel is incontrovertibly attached to your bike. So news that the XC/Marathon/Race crowd (that's us with better fitness!) can benefit from this arrangement too is very welcome.
Next, SRAM have launched a Truvativ site called MagicMechanics which urges you to follow a guy called Hammer Schmidt to the future.
The fact that this is under the Truvativ brand is significant I think - had it been some sort of shifting technology it would be branded SRAM not Truvativ so it's possibly another aspect of the transmission. The logo on his T-shirt must hint at something and my guess is a belt driven, internally geared hub álá Shimano Alfine but ruggedised for MTB applications. Does anyone have an alternative view?
All will become clear I'm sure but for now we'll just have to wait I guess.
