Following on from Dave's post, Matt has a bad break of his right collar bone.

I will post a copy of his X-ray later, but suffice it to say my first thought when I saw it was "Shit!"

I have no doubt Matt will fill in all the details later, but it might be a while as he has to keep his shoulder imobilised for a few days, so might find typing and using a mouse a bit difficult.

He has been full of praise and thanks for all the help the lads gave him this morning, and as Lee has pointed out it highlights the dangers for solo cyclists. If Matt had been on his own, he could well have lain down the bank for some time until a walker or anoter cyclist happned to find him.

More info when I get it.

If anyone is wondering how I know all this, Matt is my brother-in-law and not my gay lover as some of you are probably guessing!

Wishing you a speedy recovery Matt.

(been there done that served my share of hospital time from biking, no more thank you)

All the best for a speedy recovered. I remember Matt saying he clouted his head so his helmet earnt its keep.

I guess we ride a fine line (literally) in this game. Hopefully its a minor setback in a wider scheme of health and happiness. We can't protect everything (on XC rides anyway) and collarbones are a bit vulnerable.

Tuck those shoulders in Matt! (maybe not yet though eh)
