The Guardian reports that the Canadian police have just caught what's claimed to be the world's most prolific bike thief in Toronto. The tow-rag in question, Igor Kenk (which can't surely be his real name?) runs a bike shop which was found to be crammed full of stolen bikes along with ten other rented garages across the city.

He was caught in a police sting operation as he tried to make off with another couple of bikes with an accomplice. Despite the sheer scale of the thefts and the immense amount of niggly trouble he's caused countless people it puts one thing onto perspective…

Having two or three bikes in the garage is small beer in comparison! Maybe I don't need to worry about building up that old frame after all.
