I bought the bike to get back to the hard tail experience and haven’t really looked back, but it is very different to the East Peak.
I feel very nostalgic about this bike as it was the first ‘proper’ MTB I owned.
Thomas bought himself a new bike after his Orange UFO committed hari kari in 2003 by chewing up its rear wheel and derailleur leaving him to look for a ‘cheap’ frame to get mobile again.
This was my second Marin after a brief spell with a Muirwoods (same as Matt’s). I wanted to go full suss and loved the way the bike rode – still do.
