While out on Thursday I was having a chat with Catherine about the fact that I need to build up more confidence and that it has been suggested that I go back to Leith Hill and practise on the Bomb Holes.

Catherine asked me "what are Bomb Holes?" and I tried to explain. I then figured that a good ride for today would be a new trail over Headley Heath!

Having run out of time to post about last Saturday's ride and share the highlights that we had 2 new femoles join us and Jill managed to stay on her bike this time.

Cycling home I looked at my speedo and did a double take when it said I had done just over 16 miles, it was about 8.45pm, the sun was still warm and my brain reminded me I have work in the morning. For a few hours nothing but the pleasant ride had entered my head.

Us Femoles have chortled for some weeks about how our Saturday rides were always dry and sunny but on Sundays for the boys rides it was wet, wet, wet. I even wrote a post but didn't publish it a few weeks ago with some links for the boys to YouTube "Why does it always rain on me" but maybe I had had the last of the laughs.

What I love about the summer is the ability to ride after work in the daylight. Not a great lover of night rides in the dark even with the best of lights, I love the naughtiness of being out in the evening as the day is cooling down and there's a lovely breeze in the air.
