My fault I think Pascal, sorry about that. I set off without counting how many riders we had and being at the front I kept going down White Down when I would usually stop but as we were quite delayed already I carried on. I also later realised how many riders didn't actually know who you were, again my fault for not checking.

So, give it another go!

Sorry you went MIA Pascal and hopefully you will be out again soon. A very disrupted ride, loads of punctures and a Big Al detour meant we arrived at Newlands at 11.24am. I needed to be back so I forsook refreshments and kept going with only an energy gel for company.
I pulled into the home drive at 12.07 with a very empty tank but at least on time.
Good weather and good route.

Thanks, guys - and no probs Dave about having dropped me. Given that I still have a headache, I think calling it a day at that point was sensible. I'm still a bit wary of taking knocks on the head after having had a concussion last September.

Sorry to hear that the ride was interrupted by punctures. Sounds like you got to Newlands about the same time I rolled in to Bockett's.

No chance of it putting me off. The Whitedown descent was particularly good fun. Hopefully some solo rides over the next couple of weeks (with a Garmin) will help me get my bearings, not to mention help me keep up. Just a shame it happened on a quasi-climb as I rely on those as my salvation!

I think I'll give out my mobile number on the next ride, though. Just in case. :D

Don't worry, thinking I might try and join next Sunday's ride, so there will always be someone behind you; who unfortunately may not have a scooby where they've gone either :( On the plus side, at least you won't be alone when you're lost :)

Good stuff, Dandy! This Sunday looks questionable as I appear to have drawn the short straw in deciding which parent goes to a birthday bowling party. Hmm. Still, company at the back of the pack (or lost somewhere) will always be welcome. :D
