Dandy an disappointed you are not going to watch the RWC and see the mighty All Blacks storm the field and squash the frogs. As I have confidence the All Blacks will stomp it you may see me in the morning as well.
Go the mighty All Blacks

Like you, AJ, I'm not expecting a close game, though Les Frogs may make a better game of it than we're expecting. I will enjoy mtb'ing in the sunshine and watch the game later.

Looks like I'll not be out after all, becasue I am taking Mrs R to the station about 9am. Have a great ride - the conditions this morning were fantastic. Hopefully see you next Sunday.

PS Happy nth Birthday D'andy.

I come over for a Sunday pootle around the Surrey Hills and the 'A' team arrive. A great ride, good company, tasty burger and even the M25 was more or less clear on my way home. :D

Thank you to whoever helped with repairing my chain  , I now have to decide whether to keep it, the rest of the chain is fine so I could continue using it but with a link short. It seems there is a reason for carrying around those tools in my backpack on every ride.

Someone asked for a gpx file of the ride ? Sorry, again I cannot remember  , drop me a pm but note the file is of my special alternate route back via the Ranmore Road. ;) Thank you to Dave and Lloyd ? for coming to find me.

I did nearly 28 miles in case anyone is interested in the ride length, but that reduced to 26.5 miles once I had edited my gpx file to delete some backtracking.

On the forum write-up for this ride I posted a reply of

"I tried to make the start line, at least to wave cheerily as I grabbed a late opportunity to get some road miles in with a must-be-home-by-10 sort of route. Alas, too much to do early on so I failed to get to Bocketts in time to be sociable for 5 minutes.

I miss the Newlands ride and will make one of them again, I compensated by doing a 30 mile Newlands road route last night. Sorry, that’s r–d mentioned twice now, cough, I will make amends by posting a picture of the mountain bike I photographed at the Box Hill NT cafe on Sunday morning, looked interesting to me.
"

Here's the bike which caught my attention, looked lighter than the Scott thing which Barrie rides

Looks lethal! Don't let Danny near it.

A pointless, ill-suited mtb (judging by the forks, wheel size, bars etc.) converted to an equally ill-suited road bike (judging by the wheels, tyres, cassette, chainring).

Looks a miserable ride actually.

It looks scary! Probably very uncomfortable as well.

Another profound example of my mountain bike knowledge the, lots of laughs!

And there I was anticipating comments about it being a serious downhill or jumping machine. Back to the castle then...

Oh, I think you're all being a little harsh. I reckon I could get that up the High Ashurst climb with my thighs of steel, and that head angle and stem look just right for Deliverance .... or even tackling a nice rocky Snowdon descent with those rigid carbon forks :)
