Did the Sunday ride again yesterday with Jem although we went up the Mother to Leith Hill and came back that way.

Anyway, took the right exit off from Telegraph Row again and after the double dip came to a dead stop as the logging operation has covered all the trails in that section. The only way through to "Girl in the Tree" is to go to the end of TR and then take the right, turning left just before you hit the Fir tree across the main trail.

This may have changed again already but there was no sign of logging equipment yesterday morning.

Two trees down on the final quarter of Bat Out Of Hell this morning (Sat 28). It is still passable on foot, but the first tree down is not very visible until you get to it.

Two big tress down on Dearly Beloved today. One looks like it's been down for a few days and there is a paty around, the other looks more recent and at the moment you have to pass the bike horizontally through the branches.

Hopefully the trail pixies will rev up their chainsaws soon . . .

Carnage on Pitch Hill :(

One of my faves, Roller Coaster, as well as T-0, have suffered pretty badly after the recent tree thinning operations (I think it's '0', the one that's not too far away from the start of Roller Coaster)

It looks as if the thinning is not yet complete, and there's still plenty of timber that needs to be removed. As the intent is clearly tree thinning, and not to deliberately trash the trails, I suspect they will be repaired again fairly soon. I even cleared about 10 m worth on Roller Coaster, so if many of us do that it will soon be rideable again.

Fortunately, south of the trig point and Winterfold are untouched, so that's where I spent the rest of the evening :)

Two trees down on China Pig:
- first one is about a quarter way in, and has an easy diversion established around it.
- second one is over half way in and you have to get off to crawl under it. From a distance in the dark you may be tempted to ride under it, but it really is too low!

Yep, I feel a stealth saw mission in the local area is due. Maybe we should draw up a short list of some of the more important 'improvements' and then plan a night ride around them? I would be happy to help out. Might be able to provide saw. Let me know.

The tree on landrover has disappeared. Having just read the post above, some on here may already be aware!

A load of fly tip waste currently on the cycle path on Mickey bends. Plenty of nails and sharp looking crap spread along for quite a few metres. Bastards.
