Moving on

So five days on from my accident and where are we? Well, sore and upset at my helplessness for a start but that’s not what I want to talk about here.

Some of you may have noticed one corollary of my damaged collar bone which is I’ve had some time to fiddle with this site (and boy, with one finger typing it’s taken time). The result is a number of improvements which I hope will be well received.

First, I’ve separated the entries in the Mutterings section. It was getting too big and really had ended up as a bucket for stuff we didn’t really know how to categorise, so now in addition to our pointless ramblings we have a Rides heading (for ramblings with a point), a News heading for stuff about the bike industry and off-site, plus a Tips section.

Second, I’ve added the MTB Pictures of the Day page. It pulls three pictures off Flickr that have been submitted to the ‘Singletrackworld – mountain biking photos’ pool. Should be good judging from what I’ve seen so far and I’ve wanted to do this for ages but obviously we’ve no control over what actually appears.

There’s a few other changes under the hood, plus I’ve made our contact details much more prominent on the site and set them so they should be more anti-spam although that won’t be apparant to the casual observer. Added to the other changes made recently, to allow instant publishing of comments and links to our own Flickr photos and Vimeo videos I hope things will feel a bit fresher round here.

Now all we (that’s the Moles in general) have to do is keep delivering the content. Let me check my diary – oooh, result, I think I’ve got some time available at least…

Now, over to you…

Matt, sorry to read about your enforced bike lay-off. Hope you recover soon.

Anyone interested in an evening ride today near Godalming (Puttenham Heath area)?

Takes in a few “interesting” home made trail features for the brave… email (jamesparsons at halifax dot co dot uk) if interested.

Regards James (Mole reader yet to manage to join a m.mole ride…)
