Exposure Lights White Eye

At the risk of looking as though I cull all my news from established mountain bike websites, here’s an interesting article of the new Exposure Lights White Eye.

Exposure Lights White Eye

It’s an additional LED unit that piggybacks onto existing Exposure Lights that use the Smart Port technology. Here, it’s used to boost the output (and, to be fair, halve the burn time) of the Joystick MaXx using a neat adaptor that allows it to be clamped alongside the in-built LED.

I think this is an intriguing idea but am I alone in thinking that it would be quite an effective addition to the Exposure MaXx-D? Think about it, the battery would only be taxed 25% more so the burntime would not be affected as much but at the same time you’d get a 20% boost in output. Not to be sniffed at.

Bikemagic claim the unit will retail around £40 which is a bit pricey when you can get a full system with around 900 lumens for £50 these days (yes, really – look out for a review soon…) but if you have an existing Exposure unit it’s an effective upgrade. Unfortunately at present there’s no evidence of an adaptor to fit the MaXx-D but I’m pushing for it!!

Which reminds me. Lights. It’ll soon be time to ponder the question of which is the best light this year given that we’ve just passed the Equinox. Sorry to depress you!

Now, over to you…

Matt, just found this site when searching for info on the Exposure white-eye and you seem to have the same idea as me!

Ive emailed Exposure and they said there will only be the Joystick mount available as the White-eye are now in stock ready for shipping to dealers. However i reckon if your wanting to use it with the MaxxD (as am i) then the old zip tie joystick mount might be our solution! It might need a bit trimming but it should allow us to point it exactly where it needs to be with very little faff :0)
