About the author

Dave's been riding seriously since about 1997 and is one of the founding Molefathers — along with Matt and Mark — that came up with the idea of a MTB website for Mole Valley riders.

He's had several different bikes but it's now mainly 29ers in Dave's stable, apart from an Orange 5.

Current Bikes: Orange 5, Salsa Spearfish and Kona Big Unit

  1. JR says:

Ah, the Brownie that got away. As did the fruit scone, the carrot cake and the rock cake. Perhaps Tillings is getting too successful?

Nice quick report Dave – I am sure Elliot will verify whether it is within the Twitter 140 Chr limit.

    • Elliot says:

113 if we don’t count what appears to be a sub headline?

That was a damn good carrot cake and hot chocolate but the wait was a bit long for a Sunday ride. Feel free to thank Charlotteville CC for that plus eating most of the cake!

BTW it was nice to see tubeless work for a change. Tyre gets puncture, tyre looses about 2psi, tyre drips sealant, tyre seals, ride resumes…like it!

  2. Matt says:

Concise, but no-one has yet attempted another mountain bike haiku.

I was years ahead of my time…!

  3. Kev says:

No cake for JR!!! What the hell is happening?

I think you will find that is a basic human right on a Moles ride as per the EU ruling number 110338976453268, section 4000987, clause 78, b. Hah!

Southside Phatty probably has grounds for a strong legal case …. 😀
